Rwanda and Portugal through their Ministries of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between two countries.
This was announced by Rwanda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, writing on X that on this Monday, February 12, Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta welcomed João Gomes Cravinho, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal who is in Rwanda for a two-day visit.
The two ministers held a bilateral meeting and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Rwanda and Portugal.
They also exchanged on regional and global matters, as stated by Rwanda's Foreign Affairs.
The diplomatic relations between Rwanda and Portugal is not current as it started in February 1976.
This relations focusing on diplomacy, trade, investment and sharing experience in politics.
The report released by the Rwanda Development Board, RDB, in August 2018, showed that Portugal was the first source of large investments, amounting to 398.7 million dollars invested in Rwanda.
The company Mota-Engil Africa S.A. which is builder of the Bugesera International Airport, based in Portugal. The first part of this project will cost 400 million US dollars, in which the company has a 75% share.

During their bilateral meeting, the ministers discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries and also talked about regional and global issues.
