Rwanda and South Korea continue to look for ways to further expand cooperation and collaboration, especially in trade and investment.
This was discussed on Monday, January 15, in talks with the Ambassador of Rwanda to South Korea, Nkubito Manzi Bakuramutsa, when he met with the Vice Minister of Trade, Byung Nae Yang in South Korea.
The main purpose of the discussions focused on looking for business opportunities related to the preparation of hardworking and capable workers, as written on the official account of the Embassy of Rwanda in South Korea.
On the official account of the Rwanda Embassy in South Korea, it is written that Ambassador Nkubito Manzi met with Director General Kim Eun Chul.
Their discussion emphasized that the foundation of development lies in a motivated and skilled workforce. They eagerly anticipate collaboration and exchanges between Rwanda and South Korea to enhance the capacity building of public servants.
The cooperation and partnership between Rwanda and South Korea began in 1963. The two countries cooperate closely in agriculture, education, the development of medical technology, technology, and other areas.
In 2020, South Korea signed an agreement with Rwanda that allows both countries to share airspace, an agreement known as the Bilateral Air Services Agreement/BASA.
In August 2023, Rwanda and South Korea signed two important agreements in Political Cooperation aimed at increasing political dialogue and sustainable cooperation between the two countries.
